Join OurLocaltopia’s Farmer and Biologist Jonathan Duffy Davis, this Wednesday (5.14.14) at 7pm for a class on seed saving! Held at the Yorba Linda Public Library, this free class will give you the tools needed to effectively gather, save, store and share seeds from your backyard garden or farm.
Why should you save seeds? To preserve the genetic integrity of good crops, to save money on next year’s propagation and to share with the community! This class is part of the many educational resources provided by the Yorba Linda Library designed to advance their own seed lending library, a community sourced seed bank. Have a look at their seed saving information and background on their seed “lending library” here. (Note: you need not be a resident of Yorba Linda, or active in the seed lending library, to attend this class!)
Class will last about an hour and will be held in the downstairs Community Room. Come one, come all!
Happy Seed Saving,
