We have been away from our blog for several months, so it’s time for a big update! First and foremost, we are happy to announce a variety of upcoming classes! These new classes have been scheduled at the Yorba Linda Public Library and at the Fullerton Arboretum for the remaining 2016 and early 2017 season. Thank you so much to each of our loyal guests who have come to learn, laugh, and eat with us through the past seasons… we look forward to seeing you again! Read on for a list of class dates, descriptions and information. And then keep reading for personal notes from the Jonathans! Continue reading “Summer Update and New Classes!”
Greetings, readers. Jonathan Duffy Davis here. My farm has been mentioned on the blog several times but I thought that a proper introduction might be in order! It has been just over a year since my family and I bought 20 rugged acres of Southern-Californian land. We sit at 3500 feet and have a clear and expansive view of Palomar Mountain and the Temecula Valley. The view and sunsets are incredible. I could live here solely for the sunsets. Happy New Year from OurLocaltopia! Now that 2014 has past and the promise of 2015 is on the horizon, we want to RECONNECT! We look forward to updating you with regular postings again, sharing what we’re involved in and excited about. It’s been 6 months since our last post (for good reasons), so here’s an update on what has been keeping the trio at OurLocaltopia busy.
Egg season is upon us! Whether you are celebrating Easter with a bonnet and a basket, or simply enjoying the ongoing nesting of your backyard birds, springtime is synonymous with The Egg. Naturally dyed eggs will take a bit more work than the store bought kits, but the creativity, shade variations and recipes are almost endless. And, if you’d rather limit the ingestion and exposure of less-than-natural substances for you and your family, this is the way to go! OurLocaltopia was lucky enough to make lunch for Alex and Bailey’s wedding this weekend, which was set amidst fruit trees, garden boxes and succulents in the garden of their vintage Craftsman bungalow in Old Town Orange. Continue reading “Bailey & Alex’s Backyard Wedding!”
OurLocaltopia is lucky enough to be curating the menu for the wedding of our friends Alex and Bailey! The wedding, which will take place at their historic Craftsman bungalow in Old Town Orange, has an appropriately vintage theme and promises to be one for the ages. It’s not til April, but this week, we had the first “tasting,” a sampling of potential dishes that will be served on the big day. Check out the short gallery below for some pics from the tasting, and stay tuned for more wedding coverage as the day approaches! Continue reading “Alex & Bailey’s Wedding: The Tasting!”
